an interesting take on the cc situation
I'd like to see mahmoud today, but Overton will probably get the nod as the better batter

I reckon Mahmood might get the nod for his pace just can't see us scoring enough runs the Indian pace attack is firing on all cylinders and look at home in our conditions.
Good article by Rob Key.

Unbelievable day!
Now to go BIG tomorrow

Now THAT'S more like it! Make 'em suffer today, boys...this wicket is made for Joe and if they try that silly stuff against Jimmy again, I reckon he'll knock the cover off!
Roooooooooooooooot
I just watched the days highlights, mostly positive apart from joss, that's a man who needs a break
Hameeds technique against short stuff looks worrying, the way he ducks and turns away, especially when I noticed he doesn't have the neck protectors on his lid. The one that caught him bought back memories of Phil hughes

It was nice to see the batsman rotate the strike to keep the score ticking over which is something Root does and makes it look so easy. Hameed took the pressure off Burns by scoring at a decent rate and Malan looked good. Bairstow got a decent ball but looked good up till then. Agree with Buttler doesn't look comfortable at all. Moeen threw his wicket away again which is a shame as he is much better than that but Roots knock was magnificent and with the others scoring now means we are in a postion to win. Oh dear we were in that position last test lol.
On a sadder note i see Chris Cairns had a stroke whilst in surgey and at present is paralysed.
Hope and pray he can make a full recovery.

I can see India piling on the runs, taking a lead, then bowling us out for peanuts!

I may have to eat my words if we continue like this...India: 239 for 5...the Jimmy has struck.
Make that 239 for 6. Robinson looking for Michelle here!
Moen now in on the act with his 193rd wicket (level with Jim Laker!). India now 254 for 7. Feel sorry for those with day 5 tickets.
Olly's got his five! Wonderful stuff
257 for 8. Boy! am I glad I switched on TMS this morning.

What a morning. So that's it! 278 all out!
All over before lunch! An innings and 76 run triumph! What a comeback after Lords.

Cracking display by England firstly for bowling India out for 78 in 1st inns secondly more people contributing with the bat thirdly for their bowling display this morning and fourthly for some good catches taken. Good all round performance. On to The Oval next week this result has opened this series right up i think Ashwin may be involved.
Whoever wins this series there has been some fabulous cricket.

Yep, great performance all round, I'm expecting ashwin to play, and expecting Curran to miss out for wood or mahmoud.
Interested to see if foakes plays in the cc this week too, possibly with pope and both currans
