Beware Cypography subscription cancellation. The company makes it unfairly difficult to cancel subscriptions. I had to cancel the subscription at source. Lesson learned. The content was surprisingly crap too.

I take back what I said. Even though I had cancelled they've still taken my money for another 3 months.
So cancelling with the bank. Livid. Won't be resubscribing again now.

This is a new accepted norm of any genre of subscriptions. bit like the try free for a month then you forget to cancel and they take the money for the next month.
Bloody annoying, although ive not used any of these cyprography type things, i can imagine the annoyance.

It's really not the same thing at all though is it?
You being enticed into a subscription with a free month, and then forgetting to cancel, is your fault.
You cancelling your subscription, then being charged for many months afterwards is a whole different ball park altogether. I've now seen lots of people saying the exact same thing. Not just here but also on Faceache.
I have tonnes of subscriptions. Netflix, Disney, YouTube etc etc. When I cancel, it's cancelled instantly and no one takes anymore money. Not ever. If they did, I would have the absolute raving.

Had a similar experience to those on this thread, money still being taken after cancelling on the website and only receiving confirmation that it had been cancelled after I contacted them directly by email. Fully aware that it's a strategy employed by a lot of subscription based companies but I feel like it stings a bit more when its pulled by a company, within a smallish industry, that is built around a common love for a hobby. Carp fishing is an egalitarian pursuit with people from all walks of life coming together on the bank, so it feels wrong that they've set up a business model that deliberatley misleads fellow anglers.
As for the content you get for the money, I'd say about 25% of it was value for money. Really enjoyed the 'For The Record' series with famous anglers who've caught some of the most iconic carp in the land, but not sure if I consider gear reviews of products Elliott Gray admits he hasn't used or a video of him taking his Mrs fishing worthy of the subscription fee in any way.
Much better content for free on YouTube.

Who should people report this too.
I'm certainly not a subscriber, but even the guys who have managed to cancel their direct debit to cancel should still report this dodgy practice to help save other poor unfortunate souls from carp fishing video boredom.

I know I keep going on, but it's a recurring card payment, not a direct debit. They do it that way as there are rules around DD's and they wouldn't get away with it if they used them. If you've done it on a credit card, or you are in your overdraft when the payments are made to cyp, you can ask your card supplier or bank to refund the money as they'd be liable for it.

I'm sure one of the cyp guys was posting on this thread before and maybe he should step up and take responsibility and sort it out
I am not a subscriber and definitly wouldn't whilst this practise is going on.
Ps
Whilst at it move that stupid unlock banner out of the way so terms and conditions link can be opened..
