I just don't see an opening for Jacks (or smith/foakes) without injury somewhere, if pope is back the top 7 are set, woakes should nail down no 8 (with a poss recall for Sam Curran as all rounder cover) and Ahmed is ahead of him as second spinner.
Stokes not bowling shuts the door to a lot of batsmen/keepers.

Yep this next six months will define Stokes's future with his knee which as we know is not looking too good.

I'm not very hopeful about his knee getting fixed, what happens to his looks a lot like what I struggle with, and when I've heard him describe the "pop click and it feels better for a while" it sounds really similar.
In my case that pop click is called a subluxation, a partial dislocation of the kneecap, and granted I don't have his budget, but the only fix I can find costs a small fortune, has a relatively poor success rate and a long rehab period

Personally i think he is capable of batting at 3 problem there is Pope is his Vice Captain so either he or Brooks drops out as they need an allrounder in there. They made a big call with Bairstow and i can see some more big calls to come.
PS hope your knee gets better doesn't sound too clever.

Pope looks the most vulnerable for sure.
It's crazy really, not so long ago everyone was saying we weren't producing enough quality players, where now I could name a strong team of players who probably won't be selected for England or the lions!

I tried watching The Hundred for the 1st time last night as they've been pushing it so hard on the BBC. What a load of s***e.

I'll watch it sporadically, beats eastenders
I'll watch it tonight just to see what the speed gun says when atkinson is bowling

It was the batting that I couldn't get my head around. I get they only have 100 balls to go at but some of the shots attempted 'just weren't cricket'

No different to t20 really.
A lot of the weird shots are just the result of a premeditated shot that isn't on once it's bowled.
I saw the last few wickets, not sure what the third umpire was watching when he gave one of em, the cynic in me thinks it was an attempt to get people talking about it

I can't get into T20 either TBH so no surprise an even more rushed version of the game wasn't for me! I gave it a try anyway..

Surprised to see Jordan Clark in the 1 day Cup squad

I see Atkinson been called up probably to replace Archer. Stokes in for Brook for me is a big mistake they should concentrate on his knee IMO.
And I would probably have Duckett instead of Roy.

I think that was inevitable once he started clocking mid 90s on the speed gun. Bit of a worry really as he's had lots of stress fracture problems so surrey limit his workload, I hope he doesn't end up another archer.
Stokes must have been told either they can't fix him, or they can but he's out for 18 months. Bad luck for Brook but even as a batsman stokes would walk into any team in the world.
On current form I'd take Rossington over either openers
