Just seems there's an extreme version of the Nash locks
I've just bought a pair of Guru Reaper butt grips.

The Nash butt grips are spot on.
For years I have used the "Fox Butt Rest", cheap and cheerful and if I want to make them tighter, just pour boiling water over them and reshape them to fit the butt.
To make them tighter or reduce the chance of them sliding, I have a 2" piece of bike innertube which fits the rod handle very tightly and is hardly noticeable which I can roll along the handle to the correct position and it then takes the shape of a silicone band which stops the rod sliding through the rest, or leave it unrolled and it makes a tighter fit in the rest. Or I can leave the innertube unrolled and I have some 1/2" aluminium strip which I can fit under the inner tube and it is bend downwards at an angle of 90 degrees from the rod and it gets positioned behind the rod rest and once again in conjunction with the innertube, their is no way the rod will slide in the rests.
But Fox seems to have a few different butt rests. Mine is the old type they do but with the metal threaded screw and not the plastic one.
