Thatcher and Theresa May both did the honourable thing and stepped down after similar 'wins'...
But Boris and the 'honourable thing' ... ? Well given every thing he's done and said so far....

Agreed.
The issue though is now out of Johnson's hands in reality, like it was for those you mentioned.
Power and then influence are what the Tory backers expect for their millions of £££'s in donations and lobbying costs. You can't have one without the former being guaranteed. Johnson now is a risk for those powerful people/organisations.

Yeah we don't let them in swimming or cycling races round here
Joking aside, did I or did I not warn you about the imminent ‘sportspeople'?
I'll not judge anyone for laughing at the time

He's Teflon. He'll survive, whatever the cost to the Party or the Nation. Not only that, but he's a Tory version of Putin. Say no more!
Fun fact: 30 minutes before the results of the VONC vote yesterday, the government scrapped its plans for an HS2 link to the West Coast Main Line. Guess whose constituency it would have run through, and who was dead set against it?

What a surprise...
I imagine there were a lot of promises made for the sake of saving his own skin...

Dead man (Boris) or dead nation walking.
Take your pick
Call a GE now, Boris, if you are so sure that this country loves you.
