I have used it with and without the sim and slept perfectly on both occasions.I will probably use the sim in colder weather to stop any chance of cold air coming up

£250 for the Fortis bag?
Just bought one of these SP C Tech beds as have the chair and it's solid, and comfy. Have a Trakker Big Snooze but it's no good in winter. Is the Fortis really that good?

Snugpak zip's and bags are notoriously crap. Buy something decent like the Trakker 365 and be done with it.

It is if you want to save weight. These are my views having owned both the 365 and the Snugpak.
For a proper 5 season bag the 365 is one of the best bags out there IMO but it is twice the weight of the Snugpak and bulky so doesn't fold up as well in the bedchair, however it' waterproof and has proper chunky crash zips so what's not to like.
The Snugpak is also brilliant but for different reasons as it's not waterproof (water 'resistant' like the jackets) and doesn't have chunky zips like the 365 and they can catch when zipping up if not careful. What it is though is very lightweight and very breathable. I find it regulates temperature very well and I never seem to get too hot in it whereas you can in the 365. Also the zip-off extra layer is far easier to deal with than the extra inner bag of the 365.
As you can see pros and cons with both, not least the price. I basically got the Snugpak because I wanted to save some weight/bulk, (the extra breathability that it seems to have being an added bonus) and had the money at the time burning a hole in my pocket, really glad I bought it as I really rate it.
The Solar bed is quite heavy so I personally would try and save the weight with the sleeping bag, with the 365 on it would be just shy of 20kg

Awesome review Chuffy. As you say pros and cons and very much personal preference. I want something that will keep my toes from falling off during winter so if it's a case of over heating/too warm, doesn't bother me.

Ive owned an original snugpack softie shirt which i got from gazza products if anyone can remember them and the zip is still in perfect working order on that and its 20 years old.

Avid Thermafast 5 is super warm for winter fishing. I use a Trakker big snooze through summer/early autumn, as you say though they're nowhere near warm enough for cold weather. The Avid is, and it's half the price of the Trakker 365.

Nice! Although they're either discontinued or no one stocks them anymore. Price looked to be similar to the 365. Good to hear another contender though.

I wish they did a wide version of the 365 to fit my wide sp bed. I had to get the gardner plus duvet to fit it. Great bag but hate the toggles to attach the inner section. Zips are much better.

That's a shame - TFT were selling them for £85, I actually got mine free from them as they were giving them away with a £300 spend last year and I wanted a deeper chirp anyway.

Thanks for the feedback I've decided to get the c tech bed and use my fortis bag
Not overly keen on ss and I've always felt my wide boy was overkill so many thanks for all the feedback
