Im in the market for a new bed and hear lots of good stuff ant the solar and so fancy a change, I'm coming from owning pretty much every Nash ss released and currently have a mf60 wideboy which is great but its bloody heavy and overkill for most of my fishing, I also have a levelite with a fortis tech lite bag which I therefore use for 80% of my fishing.

Im torn between the bed cheaper or the all singing bed (Is it worth the extra) or the sleep system but no where local has stock and so wanted to check to understand what the real differences are between them other than price.

The Solar Ch08 felt better for me then the Sp, it's worth to try both before buying, the sp is top built but the ch08 is also very good in terms of build quality.

I do not recommend the solar sleeping bag if you have the Fortis lite it will perfect fits the Solar standard Sp/ch08beds

I have the last version with bag, have had it for about 2 years and i can say its the most comfiest i have slept on. Minor paint chips as expected but is holding up well, nothing broke, stitched or requires changing.

The only minor problem is that i don't think its a 4 season bag so from november to February i use a snugpak special forces 1 bag inside. Also the detachable cover i thought i would use as a blanket for hot summer nights is pretty useless as its fur lined and grips clothes and limbs

But on the whole I am very stisfied with it as I have said goodbye to bed chair back hopefully

I have got the sp c tech bed and it is by far the best built bedchair I have ever owned.I have the fortis snugpak bag on it and it's the best combination.I liked the bed so much I went and bought the chair,both of which replaced trakkers offerings,the build quality is night and day.I have finally found my perfect bankside comfort

Good stuff so far

It sounds like I just want the bed then and not the sleep system I'll use my tech lite

So what's the difference between the beds one is £200 the other £350 ish is it worth the extra for 3D

The hinges look alot stronger on the sp version too

I've got the top one they do without their sleeping bag. When I hear things like "it's the best thing like evaaaar", I've always been disappointed when I've got said kit it my hands, not this time though.

This bedchair is made to last, super comfy once you get used to the initial hardness of it, to the point it actually sorts my back out on the weekend after a week sleeping on my bed at home which is a decent mattress.

I honestly think this is the very best bedchair I've ever owned over the many years of carp fishing and wouldn't hesitate recommending it to anyone over anything else on the market. It's really surprised me that a company that has only recently come to the table with a bedchair has made the best bedchair that has been made so far, big statement I know, I believe it to be absolutely true.

By the way, I've only got a few bits of Solar gear like baiting needle and some unleaded leadcore, so I'm no fanboi.

ive had the wide boy SP for a while. mega firm, looks decent quality. bulky piece of kit especially with the sleeping bag folded in, goes with the territory i suppose though.

As an afterthought I should have got the bed chair and Snugpak/Fortis bag but hey ho the way I use it now with extra bag is good for me

-Sp have higher leg option 48cm vs 40cm on the Ch08d
-2D vs 3D matras witch one is best is personal choice, for me the 2d matras was better to lie on.
-Sp hinger are very strong but the CH08 is also very strong

You don't make a wrong purchase with either one

Nearly bought one then seen the weight. Good for helping with bad back. That would cause a bad back. Ok if out of van way to heavy for Barrow. I will stick with my Terry hearn extralight with upgraded cord. The solar one is just too heavy

The sleep system is quite heavy and bulky tbf,that's one of the reasons I chose the bed and fortis bag.Im happy to have a bit of extra weight for the build quality of the sp c tech bed

I hate sleep systems. I use a gardner plus carp duvet on my wide sp ctec bed and its almost like sleeping at home. Its by far the most comfy and best built bed ive owned Rob. I bought the solar sp ctec chair to match as well not long ago and thats brilliant as well. The only issue i can see with the chair is the little nylon bushes that the base sits on takes all your weight and only supported with an m5 bolt so time will tell how reliable that is.

C Tech Bedchair for me, Fortis Bag and Trakker Armo Sleeping bag sleeve (anyone remember these).
Just bought a Berghaus SIM to add even more comfort

Tony do you find this bed does away with the need for a SIM, is the mattress that good?
