Hi all, as title really.

Currenly using a cyprinus typhoon and whilst its good value for money its lacking a few features that newer bivvies have like faster setups, flat back, option to take front off etc.

I've seen a fox frontier x with overwrap for £550 and this seems to be the best available.

Does anyone have other opinions before I pull the trigger?

Thanks

Ah thanks for that, that wasn't even on my radar.

I had an original aqua but i remember reading somewhere that trakker had took over them and their quality went to crap?

Do you know what the headroom is like on the aqua? I'd like enough room to sit on my bed upright. Something I cannot do now, I'm not a tall chap. Only 5'8

Thanks.

I'll never buy anything Aqua bivvy/brolly related again. Gutted my atom plus taped seams are loose after hardly any use. Premium prices , Taiwan quality. The Aqua Products of old is dead, R.i.p.

Aqua Products of yesteryear : Price = Quality
Aqua Products of today : Price > Quality

I'm waiting for trakker now to release the tempest compact RS Brolly in D.p.m

I got mine recently so can't vouch for long term use but there's plenty on here that rate them highly and so far so good with mine.
Yes aqua may not be the company they once were, but happens to all companies it seems, do well, get brought out, move production to a cheap country.

Those who state it's Chinese crap etc obviously don't realise that ALL brands are made on the cheap and outsource thier production to maximise profits over all else, Trakker as recommended below have had thier fair share of issues and Aqua and Trakker are under the same umbrella and made in the same factory so how is one better than the other?!

Head room, plenty. I'm 6ft and can happily sit on my Bedchair which I could never do under my old brolly system.

Odd person is saying it I believe........but it only happens if it's not fully opened up before trying to lift the poles though so user error I think......

I can't reccomend my Frontier X highly enough. I did have an issue with the front pole popping out but it's because I didn't fan it out properly and tried to force it, popped it back in and it's been fine since and been up and down at least 20 times since then

Have the Frontier X+ with the inner dome and it's really good. Find with the inner dome that I don't need a wrap with it in winter and really handy for keeping the bugs out in summer.

Frontier x. Great bivvy.
Front pole popping out is a common issue but its easy to take block apart and refit if it ever happens. I did this with no issues and im rubbish at diy

Got the xd, best bivvy I've had, only had a front pole pop out once and I'm of the opinion it's due to user error.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I did go and look at a few bivvies setup and the aqua really wasn't doing it for me. It seemed dated.

Local store did price match TFT so I ended up getting the frontier X, only set it up in the garden but it went up very easily and it feels solid.

Cheers!
