I would highly recommend the sunblesa headtorch. Light, small and numerous options. Rechargable too so can always do so on the bank with a power pack.

I have seen some advertised recently with various companies that the LEDs are incorporated in to the headband so no bulky light on the front. No idea if they'd be any good for fishing as the angle wont be adjustable

Nitecore NU25.

Brought one after recommendations on here and not been disappointed.

It's minimal, bright enough with different settings and battery lasts well.

Can't fault it.

ive just had to deal with nitecore China as I bought my nu25 off amazon, I contacted nitecore uk and they said its nothing to do with them as I bought it off amazon. I had to pay 15 dollars for a replacement as mine went faulty after 6 months,failing to charge,maim beam coming on when charging..I paid the 15 dollars and nitecore instructed a dealer in China to dispatch one...3.weeks on and it currently in the Netherlands according to the tracking number.
if you buy a nu25 try and buy from a UK shop and not amazon

I had great customer support from Sunblesa, I had two of the gen1 torches, when they brought out the gen2 the battery life was massively improved.
They sent me two new gen2 torch units (using my old straps and brackets) to replace the old ones. Free of charge!

I've always been a Petzl user, presently a Tactikka, on average they last me about 10 years and thats with daily use in winter walking the dog. Come to think of it I've never had a failure, usually its me breaking them.
I also tried 1of the energisers iirc Gerry recommended them a few years back. Its a good head torch, the Mrs uses it everyday near enough. It doesn't have the same build quality and the strap is thinner, but it does what it does well and hasn't failed yet.

Petzl Tikka (spelling) not seen or used anything as good as the Petzl, got one of the Nitecore and the on/off is fiddly in comparison albeit a more compact torch unit. Will happily use my Petzl for another 6yrs if possible or until it dies - then buy another. Buy cheap, buy twice or even more.

Sunblesa has done me well the last 2 years and still going strong. Rechargeable, compact, lightweight and more than enough brightness in white, red or green mode for most fishing situations. Battery lasts me at least 10 nights before i do a courtesy charge, although I do use it in low red light most of the time.

I have always been a petzal user (and they are good) until last year when I got a ridgemonkey vhr300. And have to say I'm impressed with it. It's a more bulky and heavier that the petzal, but it is rechargeable and much brighter and comfortable to wear.

I also got the Nitecore one based on recommendations on here. Don't really like it, not very comfy, don't like the strap and the head comes away from the strap too easily.

I liked mine, just died...new ones getting delivered today

I have had more or less all of them over the years
at one stage I had 17 headtorches I liked collecting them at one Stage Petzl tactikka was the daddy the one with the swing down red filter but then technology moved on and new generation Leds came
out several versions you had the high power Ledlenser etc coming out
I bought the one thats a big favourite with professionals the super lightweight Nitecore NU25 its to me the perfect headtorch very simple to use rechargable with a very long run time and a fast recharge the very important red light function
none of this cycling thru all the light options to get the one you want when you switch on the power is bright enough unless your sending a baitboat out super lightweight I left mine on and sleep with it mostly

then the bought out a kinda copy of it and not only does it have the red light it has the green one as well the top one at the moment the SUNBLESA Gen2 H11
AND IF i DIDNT HAVE A HEADTORCH there are loads of great head torches BUT !!!!!!

I bought the Nitecore a few years ago after Gerry's recommendation, it's still going strong. As said, simple to use, lightweight, leave it round my neck at night, and it's yellow so you can find it if you drop 😂

Had them all including several Petzls including the Tactikka which was top of the tree 15yrs ago . . also moved onto to LED Lenser and still use my HR7.2 for occasional 'annoy everyone / far bank illumination' use. Last few years have been using the Nitecore nu25 after Gerrys recommendation and its the best allrounder to date IMO - very compact / lightweight / comfy I leave it on my head to sleep with and I don't know its there half the time - also charges quickly, is easy to operate and is more than bright enough for most standard fishing applications . . .

There are so many out there and most are all very good ,
When i have to buy a new head torch its always LED Lenser , they just seem to last longer ,not just in power but also in construction.

I've got three slightly different Eveready head torches, each uses AAA batteries, are plenty bright enough for my needs (I'm not interested in illuminating the other side of the lake and annoying other anglers) and are very reasonably priced. Perfect for the job IMO.

I wanted a bright red headtorch, went for a fenix and it takes standard batteries.

Nitecore without doubt.
Nu25 is crazy light but also powerful, can happily sleep with it on and almost forget your wearing it.
Also got a more powerful one recently which is also great, nu40 I think it was.

Nitecore NU43 is superb too

I think 2 x headtorches covers bases- Sunblesa does everything fishing wise. Sometimes need a more powerful beam when walking back to car or illuminating a spot /far bank to cast to and not stick it up branches lol.

I think you'll be happy with that I use the rechargeable CORE battery in my PETZL, but tbh they're a bit expensive if you don't use it much!

glad i paid full whack last week! they are a decent little torch though

I really like my little Nebo head torch three brightness settings on white mode then a green and red mode with the added benifit you can remove the strap and clip it on the peak of your cap.

I lost my petzel head torch and I just got 2 from Temu for less than £8 rechargeable and quite powerful a little bulky but I only need them to net a fish or outside the bivvy, if something happens,other than that I have my bivvy light to call on,I know they are from Temu but they do me and I always keep them charged before I go for a few nights.
I was out last week Tuesday to Friday and had the rods out in the water (difficult swim to fish from bank as it's surrounded by very tall reeds and over grown)so very handy for me if I have to go out in water at night for any reason.

Just picked up a new headtorch from Decathlon a couple of weeks ago and it's perfect. Why is it perfect, well because when you turn it on the 1st light is the red beam. So much better than scrolling though white to get to red. Having red first then the ability to change to white is a feature I have been looking for in headtorches plus at 26 quid usb charging it hits the mark

My ridgemonkey head torch has finally died had it since they very first came out & can't fault tbh
So
Apart from the SUNBLESA Gen2 H11 this is looking like the winner

Petzl, I've the Tactikka Core
Edit, very durable and long lasting, mines used for fishing, walking the dog daily through winter and various wildlife chores daily. I think the present one is 7 years old or more.

Another for the Nebo from B&Q. Compact, rechargeable and has a temporary boost function for the white light... in any of the 3 white modes just press & hold the light button for a couple of seconds.

So impressed with my NEBO I purchased a spare and sold my 3 petzle head torches.

yes just get the SUNBLESA Gen2 H11 kit its got the lot and its great it will do everything you will need and great price too

After 3 years I am still very happy with my Energizer Vision Ultra HD Rechargeable

There are 2 versions, is the more expensive one better?

It shocks me how expensive some head torches are, but I respect people want high quality gear for their hobby.

I've been using these for some time and haven't had to use the second "back up" one yet.
