I've finally used up the last of my old Kryston Score Leadcore so am in need of something to replace it.
What are considered the best leader materials these days?
I fish mainly snaggy Gravel Pits with various types of substrates.

I like the ESP and it comes in different colours
I still have some score left but i cut it into 1m lengths rather than on the roll

Used the Gardner cam flex and the fox submerge. The Gardner one is a lot thinner diameter than the fox, I would say the Gardner is easier to splice but both sink really well haven't had any problems with either. I used the fox easy splicing tool which definitely helps.

I still use the ESP leadcore and remove the lead, tried some other brands but always gone back to ESP.

Nash Cling on is great, probably the best product nash have ever made.
I'm now in a naked phase (that was funny:/), but i have used both the nash and the pole position one. They are both great, with the nash one very thin and extremely supple. Having said that, the other one also ticks all the boxes, it's just a marginal difference.

Been to the tackle shop today and ended up with the Fox Camo Submerge Unleaded stuff.
What I liked about it was that it's very supple, claims to sink (let's hope so), I like the colour for fishing over various bottoms, it has a thicker diameter than others I looked at which I like for Helicopter Rigs and it was easy enough to splice!

I have a genuine question about leadfree vs leadcore...
I have used ESP leadcore for years, and find it brilliant, however I do see a few people switching to leadfree - my questions are,
- I get that leadfree is supple but if you drop both leadfree and leadcore in edge of different substrates, leadcore appears to blend in or even disappear (sink in) much better and the ESP leadcore is supple enough - do others find the same?
- for those that have swapped, have you found your catch rates improve?
I am really interested as I like a lot of others am always looking to improve but not sure whether it is a genuine improvement or just the best option for any waters where leadcore is banned?

Been using katran comodo chain core for a while and its excellent, I prefer it to leadcore and can be used on waters with leadcore bans

If you want leadocre ESP is the best.I have used by far. Looks great on the bottom and pulls into silt brilliant
I have used the Fox lead free and the Gardner, prefer the Fox due to the colouring, not far from the ESP stuff if that helps

Same here,
I don't use it a lot but when I want a heavy leader I use this and it's brilliant, so supple and flexible, certainly conforms to the lake bed really well, easy to splice and not a bad colour.
👍👍

Not sure as I've never used the other product, Comodo has like a slinky chain inside it, made of something like copper or alloy, unbelievably subtle and conformist
