One of the rear wheels on my old Mk6 PP finally lost the will to live the other day. I've since replaced them with some puncture proof solids which are ok but it doesn't half now have a rough ride!

Are there different types of puncture proof tyres that are a bit softer or is this why they put pneumatics on there in the first place?

I have the puncture proof wheels as well and I think they are all the same. As there is no air in them they do not have the cushioning that a normal tyre would have which results in it being a rougher ride. But I think the advantages far outweigh the negatives. Nothing worse than a puncture half way round the lake. Just keep an eye on the puncture proof tyres as they do tend to crack - I fill mine periodically with rubber glue or some epoxy resin glue. I think the rubber perishes due to being out in heat and then cold.
