I am an old timer really and as such I do appreciate good tackle from the past,
I have been offered 3 Nash Pursuit 1st series 12ft 2 3/4lbs SU rods in good condition.
Seemingly they were Made from Century HyBor Blanks.
I remember these were well appreciated in the past but having never seen or fished them I wonder if you know these 1st series Pursuit rods or the Century Hy-Bor and can tell me your impressions?
As SU = stepped Up versions they should cope nicely with most what we do today?

There must be someone here who had these rods or ist a Nash collector no? Any Infos would be appreciated also reg the Hy-bor blanks from Century. As the name implies I guess there was Boron in the blanks? Thanks for your help!

I was working for nash as my first job out of school when these were on the market, i couldn't tell you which blank they were but they were century as you rightly said. I had the 2.25s which were lovely but i do remember getting a few returns and they were always the 2.75su which seemed to snap where the weave transitioned into plain carbon on the tip but that was probably more indicative of what people were trying to do with them rather than the actual blank as he sold loads of them.
