Previous model to the rs advanced bivvy. It got covered in tree sap on my session this week. Does it have a detrimental effect on the fabric? Im in a flat so cleaning it is tricky. I e emailed trakker but no reply as yet.

Im not sue what effect it might have on the fabric, so I got it off mine with water & a sponge. No detergent etc. Dried nice & quick in this warm weather.
As you are in a flat, you may have to do it on the bank?

Im in the same predicament, got my ultralite skull cap covered in tree sap this week. After googling it, it said to use 70% alcohol hand sanitiser.

Personally I would go near a bivvy with hand sanitizer. Have you seen what that stuff does with steering wheels? I would use mildly warm water and a microfiber towel.

I havent done anything yet, just googled it and thats what it said. In 30 years of fishing ive never experienced it but my skull cap was covered in it.

I eventually got a reply from trakker about this. Ive posted it below. May help others out in the future. Seems like it wont have any detrimental effect on the fabric

Many thanks for your question. Tree sap, aphid secretion, and other sticky liquids that come from vegetation and trees should not create any long-term problems with any of our fabrics including Aquatexx EV. Most of these marks can be used with a dedicated shelter cleaner and a soft sponge. More stubborn mark might require you to use warm water in addition to the cleaning solution. The one thing to remember is any cleaning solution or detergent is going to also remove the external DWR that helps water to bead up on the fabric. So, we would always recommend reproofing your shelter with a suitable product from a reputable brand such as Grangers, Storm, or Nikwax.
