Looking to buy a new spod rod. Will be casting midi spombs up to around 100 yards. Looking to spend £120-130 max really. What would you recommend for that sort of money ? Don't want something too stiff as some areas are 50/60 yards and can be hard work when the rod is too stiff.

You'd hit 100 yards with a midi spomb easily with any budget one I'd say, probably Daiwa super spod for around 60!

Take a look at the Kaizen Green, seriously good for the money

I've just bought a Free Spirit 13' e class gold really impressed for what it cost (£85 from tackle box)

Casts a fully loaded spomb really well at distance and behaves well at shorter ranges.

I'm not sure about the e class freespirit but I had an spm spod rod and it was a heavy beast. Deffo not needed upto 100 yards.

I've got 2 of the eclass LRMs and use them as interchangeable spod/markers.

Great rods, really wide-ranging and much nicer for putting light/medium spombs up to 110/120yds.

For me anyway I get on better with them than the LRS which I find hard work unless really blasting distance.... which i don't do often.

For £85 that's a lot of rod.
