Anyone had issues with the retractable butt section jammed up so solid I can't get undone and tips to free up
I have has this before.
Assuming you mean the retractable part is stuck, I managed to use some Vaseline that I heated up a little so that it flowed down between the sections to add some lubrication.
I then used some masking tape wrapped the top section to provide added grip without damaging the rod.
Then I banged the bottom against the floor on a towel for protection and this made it come loose. Like driving a stake into the ground but not as hard.

tried this buddy sort of worked what i ended up doing is putting the rod in front the fire so it heated up then got some ice on the bank other side of the retractable part while banging it down on a block of wood it worked was a bit reluctant with the grips but did put some vaseline heated up around joint.
