Hello all . I'm after some tapered mainline for distance fishing , but if weed and snags on the lake but nothing major so probably 12-35/40lb , what's the best one to get thank you

Korda Longchuck are great although would recommend changing regularly as they suddenly seem to deteriorate

Gardner GT-HD Tapered for me.

I've used the Korda and fox stuff but would not go back after using the Gardner stuff.

Not sure why you would buy this stuff.
Once the leader is damaged you do what re spool or tie another leader on?

It's the front part of the line that gets damaged first so tie a leader onto your main line. The tiny knott don't pick up that much weed.

The problem is when lakes have a leader ban which often means anything tied onto the mainline, tapered mainline gets round this because it doesn't have a knot

It does have a leaded ban hence not using a proper leader . Thanks anyway all
