Has anyone used gardners mirage platinum? Is it really as good as they say it is?
I was looking at PB products fluoro but it's just to expensive. I was then just going to go for the korda kontour but read about the gardner stuff and now in two minds what to do

It was a bit on the thin side for me.
Best fluoro all rounder I have found is 20lb X Line. Bit thicker so extra abrasion resistance. Still casts as well as the others (with a decent size reel.)
Half the price and you get twice as much.
Sinks faster than this gardner version
The platinum will still rattle through the rings, and give you the odd frap. Thing is if you get cut off or a couple of times you will be respooling which is costly.
They are all much of the same.
I am amazed at how gd XLine is for the price.
I wont use anything else now.

Been using it for 2 seasons now over my old faithful 16lb tiger line and cannot fault it at all.
Just waiting for the new TA Fluro to come out as hearing good things about that.
