Good Morning all,

Apologies if this is in the wrong section but I dont think any of the other categories fit.

I have a New Direction S9 Bite Alarm system and the receiver (S9R) has an antenna that can be screwed into the top of it. For some reason they designed it with a hinge and as you can imagine, its only a matter of time until that hinge breaks. This has happened to mine.

I've done some research and it would seem 433mhz is common frequency used for bite alarms and so i have done some searching for a replacement antenna.

I have found these Link which i think would work but its not clear what kind of socket is on my S9R.

Has anyone else replaced an antenna on their receiver? is this the route you went down or would you advise something else?

Most people go to Dalectronics for advice.
Could be wrong but I seem to remember some systems use 866Mhz.
As for the connector it wouldn't surprise me if ND have their own version.
Have you tried contacting ND?

Just googled and it looks like it is 433Mhz

Never seen one in the flesh but would be very surprised if it's not just an SMA connector. The antenna you linked too should fit I would have thought.

Prob as said SMA Connector.
Make sure you get one the right Gender.
Theres multi choices, outer male, outer female, inner male, inner female.
Can be any combination of above.
Loads of SMA aerial on eBay. Ones without hinges etc.
At least for Aerials, most seem to be outer female, inner male pin.
For best results you have to get a aerial, that is correct length thats required
for the frequency used. You can ask on Facebook link above what frequency the system uses, if not sure.

Or ND sell them.

thank you for this, their website doesn't function that well but for a 5er, cant really complain too much.

I had the same issue so I emailed ND directly and explained, they just sent me a new one for free.

They did ask me for an Invoice number first but I didn't have one and they still sent one.

I did look for an alternative one but couldn't find one that fit.
