Has anyone changed from Torrix rods to Aviators? I'm thinking something like 12ft 3.25 tc. Is it worth it?

Yes I have. I have had the torrix, Aviator 12ft plus and now the Aviator 12.6ft. The main difference with the Aviators is that they have more power than the Torrix and clearly capable of sending a lead much further. I always found the Torrix to be under gunned on the bigger waters. I liked the 12 ft Aviators but I did find you had to be very careful close in due to their stiffness and I also felt they were a little out of place on smaller waters. Speaking to Nick Buss (who has made all my sets of rods over the last 10 years) he advised the 12ft 6 Aviator and it is amazing how different this rod is compared to the 12ft version. Capable of casting further but more forgiving in the tip - in my opinion I don't think there is a better all round rod and I use mine on 1 acre lakes right up to big 60 acre pits and they feel equally at home at both. Really depends what you are after - if you want an all out distance rod then the 13ft Aviator is the tool.
