Hello all,

I had my heart set on getting the new Avid Bivvy but after hearing about the first batch having issues where the front tension poles were a few mil too long, making it impossible to fit them without tearing the fabric, i was put off.

I am wondering if anyone on here has purchased one of the later batches where they apparently sorted the issue?

If yes, did the issue get sorted? Whats the overall quality like?

I will be coming from an Trakker Tempest 100.

Iv been waiting for them to come back out, looks exactly what I'm looking for. A lot of my mates have now moved over to the fox frontier and they look decent but I'm still thinking of the avid realy, so like you I'm still using my tempest 100

A mate of mine has one and has had no issues, no idea if he's just been lucky though but he says its a brilliant bit of kit

Unfortunately Avid have great ideas but very poor quality control.... This is just another example of that. I've had Avid bivvy's before, it took two Ascent bivvy's to make a single good one....

I moved onto a Trakker 100T or if I need more room a Cyprinus MH Typhoon which I'm happy with both, the Cyprinus is especially good in summer due to it;s blackout material which the trakker lacks, the later more expensive version of the 100T does have the blackout fabric.

Ive stopped buying Avid products all together for this reason.

Most stuff seems a good idea/design but is very poor quality

Have to agree. I had two Avid Tardis RT bivvies fall apart before I gave up and bought a Tempest.
