The QD is not working properly. Have to completely loosen it for line to be taken.
2 years old but very lightly used. Happened in France after 2 or 3 days of heavy rain and they got dirty. Cleaned them off and there doesn't appear to be any dirt inside that I can see.
Any idea on how I can get it put right and potential cost. I dont want to start stripping it down myself.
Any suggestions where to send it also appreciated.

Maybe the grease felt washers are sticking with the metal washers maybe replace the grease felt washers with new ones or put carbon washers in the place of the grease felt ones

I have done plenty of daiwa emblems, and found that removing the excess grease and adding a few drops of 3in1 oil made the drag much smoother, less sticky, much more predictable.
Place felt washers between two thicknesses (two below and two above) of kitchen roll and apply as much pressure as possible. A hardbacked book and press down with all body weight, the pressure forces the grease into the kitchen roll. Repeat until the paper is virtually dry and clean. Repeat with all washers.
Then reassemble adding 6 drops of oil on each washer and test when assembled.

sounds like some grit in the spool washers. I would fix it as I have had occasions where it stuck & the drag seemed to tighten when a carp took line & I lost a couple of fish.
when you take the spool off & make sure you clean under the drag knob. There is a stack of washers at the top of the spool behind the spring clip. Take them out & give them a clean up.
As baitman said - use some 3 in 1 oil. Don't use wd40 though. It removes the oil & grease & makes them really sticky.
