Hi all I am looking at going to Domaine des Îles back lake in France this summer and looking for any hits and tips before we head off.

Has anyone fished this venue. Is there anything anyone can tell me about it

I've not fished it but an angler I know who lives locally used to run bi-monthly trips to the lake many years ago probably 20 or so years now, the anglers he took would fish the main lake whilst he would sometimes fish the back lake, I think the main draw back then was the main lake held a few 60's which 20 years ago even for a French lake there were fewer lakes that held fish to that size commercially over there.
A few of the local lads I know that went on some of the trips with him didn't have a very high opinion of the place and never returned after their first trip, I dont think the fishing was ever that prolific you had to work for them possibly a lower stock venue, one of the trips on turning up there was quite a few dead carp floating up around the main lake and were popping up the whole week they were there and not much being done about it by the owners which I believe its still in the Caron family ownership, I'd say have a look elsewhere far better lakes around these days.

Hi thanks for the information, we have booked and paid so not sure finding another venue will be that easy especially with this much notice. Also my young lad is coming so a lodge lakeside is needed for him.
