Both in 12ft 3.25 been looking at these rods what would be the better rod anyone use either of them or had both feedback please

I can't give any user feedback myself but i have worked on some fox rods in the past and the cardboard arbours between blank and reel seat are prone to failing when water gets in them as they just disintegrate, admittedly this was on the high end x5 series but it was enough to put me off fox, the shimmys seem to have a very solid reputation though

The TX2 is a great distance rod but they are a bit tippy (the TC seems under rated). I had mine for about 4 years and eventually the reel seat started to move on the blank, but 2 of my mates have had them a similar amount of time with no issues..

That's weird i have the fox x3 rods and the reel seat on one of mine started moving after a few months. I also own the tx2 rods and they have been fine. Can cast further with the fox rods though.

I used tx2's for a few years. Great rods that could really punch out big bags no problem at all which my 3.5lb free spirit s-lites failed to do. I used the tx2's hard and never had any issue with them.

Only reason why I'm not using them now is that I have a set of 13ft century fma2's for distance work.
