Anyone still use this, found a 16lb bulk spool in the shed and was thinking of spooling up with it m, as it was considered the business for casting back in the day, what are the modern monos that are considered superior these days?

Its all i used to use until i couldnt get it anymore. Brilliant line and probably the strongest mono going for dia to actual breaking strain. As long as its been stored in a dark place it should be fine but test a bit with some scales for piece of mind.

It's amazing! I really don't get on with mono, I usually use fluorocarbon or occasionally braid but pro clear was amazing when I could get hold of it. It's the most supplest mono I have ever used (wet or dry it behaves the same) and sank superbly which is surprising considering it's a “casting” line. I couldn't fault it, lasted a good while on the spools as well. Totally recommend using it 👍

A fantastic line for casting, never found anything better. Closest is exocet from fox but the pro clear sinks much better. I think I have a spool somewhere as well. My only issue with it is it's colour in water, it looks very conspicuous, so much that I always use a long leader.

I got a bulk spool a little while ago from Birmingham Angling Centre I think it was. Sadly they closed in March and I'm not sure if anybody picked up the rights after they closed.

I might have to try that then, just went to spool up but as I've recently moved house, I now can't actually find the bloody Pro Clear that I previously knew exactly where it was for years 🤦♂️🤣
Edit: ordered some Bulletproof as I used to love Catana, see what that's like. BTW someone is selling a few spools of 16lb Pro Clear on eBay at the moment if anyone is interested .
