Trying to decide between a set of alarms - can't afford the RX so looking between the mini micron x or the MX alarms. Any thoughts appreciated!
Mini micron x or the RX+ anything in between is not worth the money compared to the Mini micron x because it is already so good.
Make sure you buy version 2, version 1 has problems with corrosion.

I never knew about this.
I have had my microns and micron X since they first came out, and they are all the mk1 type.
I have never had any issues or faults with them.

I had to replace my receiver this year, took the batteries out in the winter, started fishing again in march and the receiver no longer worked, was oxidized inside...
My carp tackle shop had a new one first version, new in the packaging for more than 1.5 years, never had batteries installed and it was also oxidized on the inside....
Fox exchanges them for free, but if you buy a new reciever or want to add extra alarms always check your version first because versions 1 and 2 are not compatible with each other

Still have them and can't fault them. For the price you won't be disappointed

I have a set of mx and rx + alarms. The mx's do 80% of what the rx's do for half the price. Think they are excellent alarms for the price. Thing is the mini microns do 90% of the rx's for even less money. They don't sound as good though. IMO.
