Looking at getting some new reels, and was very tempted to take the plunge on some mgs, but also thinking £1800 is quite an investment. Based on that, also considering alternatives, looking at both the new power aeros or CI4's. Anyone had any experience of these (in particular the new aeros)? And any direct comparison from owners experience compared to mgs?

Not the new Aero's but the (slightly) older style, only had them maybe 3 years, and Technium Mgs XSA, I still use both, and both are very good reels, both have pro's and con's imo. The tech's are lighter, better clutch, bit less cumbersome overall, the power aero's are smoother, better line lay, and a lot better on price. If I was to buy again, I'd get the new power aero's and a load of spare spools to cover all my needs..
