I know there are a few older threads on this but I was just wondering what recent opinions are.on this? I have a tri.porter and would like to convert the front wheel to electric powered and it seems Global Angling and BCUK seem to be the choice for most. Is there much difference between these two versions? Global appear to be more expensive but if it's better quality then I would prefer to pay the extra.

Both good quality also Carpy Cartz do good kits
personally I went with Global as they have been making these plug and play kits for much longer over 10 years !!
also I have 2 friends that had the kit so was guided by them so glad I did and the delivery time was so fast too and you pick up the phone and you get perfect customer support

Both very good conversions, i found the quick connectors and general quality a lot better on the BCUK than the Global (I compared the BCUK, Global and Nash barrow on the bank at my syndicate)
The only problem on the BCUK is delivery times, i waited 19 weeks for mine in the end where you can get the Global kit in 7-10 days (Which personally tells you something about the reason the amount of orders BCUK have)
One thing is for sure your better off getting a conversion kit over the standard Nash/CarpPorter due to these only having 150W wheels where the conversion kits have 350W)

I got the global conversion kit too Gerry.
Customer service and delivery times are spot on.
Can't see why it takes 19 weeks to send something out to be honest so that was my decision made easily.
Easy to follow instructions, Barrow works spot on every time and makes life more pleasurable getting to those longer swims.

Here we go again Gerry, give it a rest.
Like i said i had all 3 barrows next to each other down the lake, tried all 3 of them out on the meadow and up a steep hill, the Nash one was seriously underpowered.
Both the Global and BCUK preformed the same (I'm 99% sure they use the same Ali Express wheel anyway)
The only thing i found better with the BCUK was the connectors which come standard hence why waiting (Global dont advertise the upgraded connectors on there website)
In no way have i ever slagged Global off as the wheel is identical to the BCUK.
Too be fair i got told my delivery would be with me in 10-12 weeks, 19 was unacceptable and the updates are not great especially as they take your money on day 1.

That's the only issue I've had with my global one, the plastic connectors were an issue for me with my mild arthritis.
I contacted them and changed the throttle lead to a metal connector, cost around £20 I think

personally Im fine with their standard ones

Takes 19 weeks because they were waiting for delivery of wheels from china. I ordered by bcuk wheel early march & got it early september. Good bit of kit, but the delivery time was shocking. They had a big pile of wheels when i picked mine up, so must have had a delivery.

No skin in the game here with either camp but i have been considering / trying to justify the outlay for one of these...
Does strike me as a bit strange that one company can keep them in stock and the other seems to be using customers money to place orders for stock the fulfilling them once the parts turn up.
I do wonder where you would stand in terms of credit card protection if the company went pop while you were still awaiting delivery, months after the transaction - in a pretty tight spot i would guess

I went with Global on mates recommendations that all stemmed from their customer service. He was a true gent from the first call and probably the worst salesman ever - you get the feeling he wants what's best for you not his company!
BCUK may indeed be brilliant but can only base my biased recommendation on my experience. This has to be in my top 3 ever tackle purchases, if you have a van or a way of not collapsing each session it is a game changer.
