Me and my best mate have just spent 11 days on this complex and this is an honest and open review about the lake. We are hard working ordinary anglers that work hard to pay for our trips abroad please read this before booking this complex.
First of all the website is still saying that the lake is owned and run by David and Arnie when I made our booking this was the case but it changed hands in February just gone. It's now owned by an English fella called mark. There was some confusion with the price of the holiday that I was quoted when I booked to the price that the new owner wanted when we was at the resort. I paid in full before departure from the uk less bait and boat hire. Any way we get out there and they come and take your holding deposit for the swim 50 euros each that's fair enough too. After a couple of days I asked for the bill for the bait and boat hire mark kept putting it off we're sort it at the end no I said I want to sort it now 4 days in finally I get this bill well I've been charged for all sorts so that was soon sorted out make sure you sort your bill as soon as u get there because this can cause issues.
The actually fishing we get started had some lower 30s and some 20s good start a couple of nights in then it started it says on the website no nuisance fish well all in all I alone have 57 fish between 3 and 5lb over the 11 days. I baited heavily off of my spots to try and keep them at bay and work through them it worked to a point but it was constant all day and night . These fish were taking double 22mm baits snowman and size 2 hook. It was impossible to work through now on this complex you have to drop the lead which is fine we went through 120 leads all in all lucky enough I drove so I had plenty of leads in my van to get through. This complex 80 per cent of the anglers fly in now these anglers have no option from what I could see and buy extra leads at 2euro 50 each in the shop on the complex. After dealing with this situation I kept getting my hook bait bitten off I fished a very tight line to a five ounce lead so any movement I was getting indication after this happened three of four times baits gone gone and then 25lb braid bitten through I managed to catch the culprits musrats lovely so now I'm face to face with a rat about 14 inches long going nuts in the margin with a size 2 hook hanging out of his chin cut the line and let it go. Every night you would see them filling the lines out to the spots and attacking the hook baits I even had them following the boat when taking the baits out in the night. This trip was an absolute nightmare so please be warned if your thinking of booking Home of legends it is not more like home of nightmares. Ross the Baliff is an absolute top bloke he will do anything and everything for you as for the owner all his worries about is money from what I see of it and trying to get money out of his clients for things we never had.
I will not be returning after all of this we went through but I think it was only fair to share our experiences before it happens to anyone else we did end up with about 14 decent fish between us to 40lb but it was hard work of a night getting through the small carp and the rat problem

Great write up and review.
Sounds like the same lake Cavagnac I fished all those years ago when Nashy owned it.
We didn't have the issue with small fish and greedy owner (Nashy is a sound bloke) but we were plagued with those bloody horrible RATS!
Shame David left as he was running the place very well by apparently.
Lessons learned and that's fishing in France for ya. Very lucky if you stumble across a decent place that ticks a lot of boxes.

It was horrendous if I'm honest I put the same post on my comments on his Facebook page we was so excited when we left and I done a daily blog on there on how things were going
That trip in totally cosy about 3 1/2 grand for the 11 days he took the whole lot down but left the post of my van being packed ready to go
Il find another water for next year might get a couple of boats and look at public waters in stead at least you know what's what then and not being ripped off

Got a mate out there at the moment, no sign of muskies but has been plagued by 3lb commons, had around 30 between 2 of them already !!

I hope they have taken plenty of leads if not it will cost them a fortune. The more I think about that trip it all makes sense you have to drop the lead that's the rules no problem with that fill the lake with 3lb fish and sell leads at 2 1/2 euros each there's no tackle shop any where near so they are making a fortune just on that alone. Your mate have had 30 between them so far I take it since Saturday so that's 90 quids worth already and it's only Monday morning. That's with out all the extras the bloke try's to charge you for for stuff you never had . I took out nearly 220 kilo of dry particle he charged me 40 quid to cook it all up that's fair enough but I never see all of it mate the bloke is something else just get them to sort the bill out daily because if they leave it until Friday there be in for a shock.
Home of legends my arse that website is old and the brothers don't own it any more I certainly wouldn't go back

I don't know if these links will work I'm not very good with the internet I just don't want people getting ripped off like we did I don't think it's rite we work hard all year for our trips to Europe it's really put me off commercial run waters il be going back to public lakes from now on

Post it on here mate I had a member of the staff on the complex on the phone yesterday demanding I take my post down well I'm sorry mate everyone has a freedom of speech and that review I wrote is 100 % true fact it happened not my problem if no one has told the truth about the place before because if they did and I had read it I wouldn't have gone driving all that way for that stamp of fish at a lake that's is Home Of Legends !!!!!

It's wrong I know how his feeling mate beat part of it if he hasn't settled his bill his got that to deal with on Friday after everything else his been through. They have kicked me off his Facebook page and blocked me from commenting on anything. Just tell him to make sure he puts it on line I don't normally post anything about any of my trips the reason I did was because I didn't want any one wasting there money on this place but most of all wasting there holiday days because they are more precious than money and they could have been used at a proper water in stead

My mate got home last night, they had enough. Other anglers on there were having same issues as well. He wasnt impressed with the owner !
The whole place is an absolute joke mate unless people speak up then this will happen to other fellow anglers thinking there booking a dream trip but in fact there just getting ripped off
