Can anyone remember a hook link material which had a stiff flourocarbon core, with a soft woven or braided outer casing? It came on the usual 20m spools, in 15/20/25lb breaking strains, and I loved it.
The flouro kept the the body of the link stiff-ish, acting like a semi stiff boom, and you could push the outer back down the fluro, then cut that back as much as you wished, leaving you with the braided outer as a soft, flexible end to tie the hook to, and form the hair. If you found hadn't cut the fluoro back enough, you could just push it through the side of the braided outer, and cut more off, simples.
You then had a combi link without all the faff! Brilliant stuff, but I can no longer find it, and being a senile old fool, I cant even remember what it was called

That's the stuff, thank you so much for the reply, was driving me nuts trying to remember. I had loads of reels of it, but my garage was broken into and 50 years of tackle and memories was stolen, the whole lot, barstewards!
I will now try google, see if it's still for sale anywhere. Cheers mate

Found some on the bay, ordered a spool, wait now to see if its changed or not. At £13.25 including postage, for a 20m spool, I really hope its what I wanted
