I've been doing a lot of fishing on the UK canals and I fancy a change of scenery so was thinking of driving over to Belgium for a few days and trying the canals there. I don't know anyone else who would want to fish them so I'll be going alone. I've checked out google maps and I've found a few spots that look ok.

Anyone got any advice? Would it be doable solo? I've never fished abroad so I'm bit apprehensive especially with going alone.

I too would like some info on this

Even if its just rough areas where there are plenty of options if your going for 3-4 days to increase your chances of your trip being a success

Everyone seems to water and carp are everywhere but you need more info than that if your doing it alone for the first time

Fishing Belgian canals is doable alone.
Let me phrase it even more: I prefer fishing the canals solo!

Follow the rules, invest time in observing, fish mobile and respect locals. More I can't advise

Watch out for the dog ****, that's increased since everybody and his dog are having a go at the Belgian canals, it's like when perch were the new carp.

It's not helped by few people in Belgium or Holland using dog poo bags.
