Hi guys- in my other post I said I'm looking to get a new set of rods, having had my MKII century armalites for 24 years I'd like something a bit more like my Free spirit XPR. There were some great replies to that thread (plus I heard back from a couple of your recommended tackle shops) and I'm now heavily leaning towards a pair of 2.5lb Harrison Torrix'.
Because I really know how to go really wild at the weekend, I decided this morning to video myself pulling both of those rods up to full test to see how the actions compare on film. The armalite definitely has a more through action than the XPR but the latter was still giving a lovely pull through the blank. I've put the two clips on that well known video sharing site titled. . "Century armalite MK2 vs Free spirit XPR test curves" (I'm new on here so I'm not sure if I'm allowed to add a link or not.) If you do happen to view my video then I'd appreciate any opinions on whether any of you see a resemblance in actions between the torrix and the rods in the clip. I still love my armalites, and I'll never sell them, but I fancy a change so the Torrix seems like a good choice. My next stage would be to decide who I'd get to build them for me. Whoever it may be I'm thinking 30mm butt rings and single leg guides but will welcome you're suggestions.
