Yes.
The group has a website, contact details there if you wish to apply. There is currently quite a lot of change in the committee so little point in contacting anyone directly.

Are there still specific requirement to join or is it more open these days?
coincidently I recently found my old ard when I joined in 1975
and it was meeting up with Chris Ball in a pub for an interview 48 years ago !! time flies

There are still requirements to join and an interview. Mine was with Sir Robin Dix at the regions monthly meeting in a pub near Reading, despite knowing him it was like my first job interview I was so full of nerves!

Yes there are criteria for entry into the BCSG, all the details are on their website, these are the main ones.
f you have been carp fishing for at least 15 years, can demonstrate angling success on a number of waters and are interested in joining the BCSG then please submit the form. Once submitted all applications are then reviewed by the regional organiser(s) for your area. You may be invited to attend an interview and to provide photos to support your application. Please note for overseas applications you may still be required to attend an interview in the UK.

It certainly didn't used to be. A friend of mine is a member. I remember reading some of his mags, maybe 15/20 years ago. The mag was literally full of wronguns!

It isn't now. Simon Hartop is the editor, and the magazine is light years better than it used to be in my opinion. The layout is much more of the Subsurface style too.
