Hi.

I'm traveling to France in August and wondering if airlines are strict on items you can pack in hold luggage.

Can you take things like Krill powders & liquids?

Also, how does everyone transport their reels? Do they pack the spools in the hold luggage and carry reels on the plane with them?

Thanks in advance.

Reels are wrapped in a towel in the case and had no problems taking hook baits and stick mix in my case

Definitely not as simple as that, I've seen too many reels taken out of hand luggage and then sent in crappy canvas bags unprotected as hold luggage.

Basically, take the spools off and you're left with a lump of metal with a big spike coming out of the top, all it takes is a security guy that is having a bad day and you're in trouble.

What about not having the lines spooled on the reels? I assume then that there wouldn't be a problem with reels then going in hand luggage with the line going in the hold.

I fly every year US/UK for the annual France trip.
I check Reels and buzzers (without batteries) all wrapped by clothing/ jackets ( as well as indicators, scales, tackle box etc of course).

Never had a problem yet.....
