Hi All,

We are planning a 48 hour trip for between 4-6 of us (All from South Essex) willing to travel upto a few hours though.

Not bothered about stock too much just somewhere we can book for a social (40th birthday) so beers & BBQ a must, somewhere quite relaxed.

Any recommendations please?

There's Creedence fishery in Essex m8
I'm pretty sure it's for 5 or 6 anglers

Iv done a few of these trips .

One I haven't fished yet but that looks ideal is the island on wraysbury , looks perfect for what you want .

If 3/4 go home pool at Chad lakes is a good little social lake

There is a lake at old mill lakes that also looks like it might work

I've done a few nights on the Hut Island. Perfect place for a social as all the swims are around the central covered bbq area. The fish we caught weren't massive, mostly low 20's but nice fish and there seem to be plenty of them around each swim. It's a weedy lake if that's a problem, I like the weed as weed = carp.

Done the north bank (embryo) Peterborough and hut island wraysbury
Both offer a decent social set up. Hut island definitely the better of the 2 for facilities.
But due to the weed and snags felt both you couldn't leave your rods out if you were in certain swims!
