My trusty g12 broke last year and I'm yet to replace it. Not looking to spend a fortune but a few nice trophy shots don't go a miss. Flip screen and a 10 second timer and 10 shot burst are really important to me.

Canon 600D looks good for the money, does a done use one? And does it feature a decent custom timer?

Any other recommendations also appreciated.

Get an intervalometer remote for it get them cheap of eBay can set it with a longer count down timer also set it so their is a delay inbetween shots for camera to refocus and set it to take multiple shots

I went from a G11 to a 600D a few years ago. Great cameras, I use mine witb a 24mm lens and get nice self takes. As said below get a cheap intervalometer off ebay.

No need for a intervalometer with cannon if you down load the app you can control the camera from your phone.

Not sure you can do that with a 600d as I don't think they have wifi or bluetooth, perhaps I'm wrong but my 700d definitely doesn't

Great camera for the money, 650d has wifi I believe ? But either a cheap intervalometer or change the software on the 600d. The software you want is called magic lantern, it opens up a full menu

I have a 600D. If you need to do self takes just buy yourself a cheap remote fob shutter activator for it. I've been using one for ages. Really easy to hold it in your hand at the same time and press the button on it. You turn point the camera at yourself on a tripod, flip the view panel around so its facing you and you can then see what the camera sees and press. Really easy.

Or use a bulb release system which I have and is first class 👍

I use ML on my 600d and fire the camera on the first occasion with a cheap remote👍
