First time out today to give it a go with the Deeper Pro Plus. (Second Hand)
Turned off mobile data on phone and dropped it in the water and it connected to wi-fi without any problems.
Cast it in and it just kept saying trying to connect to gps. It then finally managed it and as I reeled in slowly I saw a few fish icons but it kept losing the gps signal. It wasn't staying connected long enough to get the mapping to work.
Reeled it in and left it an hour, then tried again. Same could not connect to gps at all this time.
Anyone any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Sounds like your mobile signal is poor? I get the same thing on some lakes and on others I'm fine.

Had a similar issue with my Deeper. Got fed up with a dropped signal too often, so sourced a WiFi range booster off a minimal tax paying online market place.. Followed a simple YouTube tutorial and its now up and running perfectly.

Are you near a telephone mast or under electricity cables.
They could cause your problems.
It could also be as it's second hand it neads to accuire satellites in your area and get what they call a new ephemeris data. It can take a while so maybe try casting it out into the lake somewhere with a clear view of the sky so it can see the satellites and just leave it half an hour.
All gps receivers nead a clear view of the sky to track the satellites.
It will also help if the water is calm. As water will not be going over the unit blocking the GPS signals

I only use mine when the weather is sunny, clear skies and no wind, perfect connection all the time.
If I try to use it any other time it constantly says ‘trying to connect to gps' which gets frustrating so I don't bother.

It's also very device dependant I used to get 100yards on my Samsung A6 but on my oppo phone it's very hit and miss even with putting the phone on a 5ft storm pole.
