So setting up today I've snapped pole 3 on my Trakker Tempest, it's the 100 model in DPM from Angling direct. I've seen the poles available from various supplier but they are listed as Trakker Tempest V2 or Trakker Tempest Advanced 100. As far as I'm aware this particular model would be considered as the V2 I believe? Can anyone advise me further?
I've also seen the MJL armour joint kits and think they would be a good idea although I don't think they are compatible with a skull cap?
To prevent me from making this mistake again anyone got any tips when erecting the Tempest? I think I have caused it by erecting with the door zipped shut on both sides. I do leave the skull cap on, the front infill in place and use a ground sheet which hooks into the Tempest at the base of the left and right pole 3 so fear that's not helped matters.

The angling direct tempest dpm brolly you want the trakker tempest v2 brolly poles older name for it or tempest brolly 100 poles newer name for it . look on www.cipherspares.co.uk buy the spare poles direct from their . And yes you need to fully undo the both door zips when erecting the tempest which will release tension if you are leaving the zip on front in place and don't have the ground sheet hooks connected either

Make sure everything's fanned out before erecting, sometimes the material gets stuck around the poles but you must of had a damaged bivvy to break 3 poles.

Cheers for that, that's where I'm looking and they listed the V2 and the 100 advanced which I thought was the same but with Aquatex material, so the V2 pole from their website should be correct. Surly they are just supplying the other stores that have them shown on their website?
I think what hadn't helped this time around was I rushed it up in a shower to keep my kit dry.
So never use the ground sheet to replicate the tension strap? I'll leave the door unzipped from now on during erecting, I only zip the door down in heavy rain during the session.

The poles can twist easily and put a fair bit of wxtra tension on the fabric, so make sure they dont twist when setting up.
I never leave the front on mine either. It takes seconds to zip on when needed, and the extra faff keeping it on, takes longer to set up and pack away than zipping on seperately.
No issues using the ground sheet as a tension strap. Its what its designed for. I think aomeone assumed that you was somehow setting it up up with it still in place
