Surely the syndicate contact/s, or bailiff, can tell you what the known stock is, especially if you have a walk around before deciding to part with your hard earned.
I would always walk a venue, to see if I still like the place, you know the general feeling, would I enjoy fishing here?
Angling pressure, swim availability, security, etc.
