Not sure if anyone uses this in their baits but there is a product originating from Austria which is gaining traction in Germany and probably elsewhere too. It is made from roast Pumpkin seeds formed into slabs. It breaks down quickly and releases essential oils and tiny particles. Looks interesting and I may well give it a go next year on the rivers.

It is by product of producing oil by pressing seeds. Been using it for 35 years in fishing. Especially great for barbel on rivers but there isnt any other fish that wouldnt eat it.

Found this on the reputable Feedstimulants website for anyone interested.

Pumpkin Seed Protein flour, toasted (extra fine) 55%
1 kilo for EURO 5.29
5 kilo for EURO 21.59
25 kilo for EURO 81.95

Made from 100% ground, toasted, de-oiled pumpkin seeds. This is an very interesting alternative and much overlooked nutty base ingredient with a protein content of around 55-60%, great for use in any HNV bait.

Strong flavour like peanut butter with a characteristic nutty taste and a light green-brown colour. This meal will aid binding, high in protein, minerals and vitamins. Especialliy high in vitamin E and B3 and several minerals. Because this meal is being toasted it is easily digestible. This pumpkin protein meal is a very good alternative for peanut protein meal and much more economical.
Great to combine with fine Tiger Nut flour and/or Nut hydro.

This product is not to be confused with crushed pumpkin seeds meal. For this flour is superior in protein content and overall nutrition values, plus its much more digestible for carp due to it's being toasted.

Suggested dosage direction per kg dry mix:

up to 350gr.

Typical analytical average values:

Crude protein 55-60%
Pumpkin seed oil 10-15%
Dietary fiber 10-15%
Ash 3.0%
Carbohydrate 2.7%
Salt 1%

Average amino acid profile, gr / 100gr product:

Lysine 2.1 Alanine 2.5
Methionine 1.1 Valine 2.6
Cysteine 0.7 Isoleucine 2.1
Asparagine 5.0 Leucine 4.0
Threonine 1.7 Tyrosine 1.8
Serine 2.9 Phenylalanine 2.8
Glutamic acid 10.2 Histidine 1.3
Proline 2.1 Arginine 8.3
Glycine 3.1 Tryptophan 1.0

HOPE THAT HELPS

I've actually been to the factory where they press the pumpkin seeds to extract the oil whilst I was living in Austria , they form wheels of pumpkin seed meal and yes it's a top ingredient, it works well in boilie mixes or as a ground bait for any species.

In Austria that throw the whole wheel in on their fishing spots from their boats , the wheels weigh about a kilo and a half and cost 2 Euros each. The stuff smells lovely , and the oil is gorgeous on a salad , but it's very expensive Styrian Kernoil.

Are you sure?
