Looking to replace my V2 brolly which has been brilliant. A little low at times is the only flaw in my opinion and the pole elastic snapping

Compact spider bivvy looks perfect for what I need but not sure how much taller it is in reality compared to the V2 , says 150 or 160cm compared to the v2s 125cm

The 100t would be better for height but again not sure if the pole elastic had been addressed.

Any reviews on the actual Height of the spider ?

I have only used my spider compact once since I purchased it but it certainly felt tall enough for me and I'm 5ft 10. The fact you can extend all the arms means the front storm poles can also be increased so I'm sure it is taller than a brolly but I've never owned one. I have been really impressed with the spider compact and the whole bivvy feels really well made and well thought out. Certainly doesn't feel overly compact and I think that's because of the flat back so you can push the bedchair all the way back. The zip in groundsheet and front infill are really easy to use and the vents at the back are massive which will be a bonus in summer.

Compact is a great bit of kit, love mine, fast to erect, solid, plenty of room

I have the 100T and it's amazing.

Height is great, elastic has never been an issue for me either.

I bought the Spider lots of add ons zip in groundsheet magnetic mozzie-mesh front each frame leg is independently adjustable for uneven banks its just on another level IMHO
Anything made by Solar is normally the best you can buy well made well thought out and using the best materials should stand the test of time money well spent I think thank you Angling4less for saving me literally hundreds of £££££s on the RRP and other dealers

re the solar compact spider .. do you have to unzip the groundsheet to pack it down or will it all fit in the bag together ?

you need to unzip it and its VERY easy and fast to zip in or unzip
IMO I would never ever want to leave a dirty muddy groundsheet attached any way its far better to keep a dirty groundsheet separate

ok mate ty i've just ordered one from tackle tavern - £289 for the bivvy, infill and groundsheet - that looks like a bargain compared to everywhere else?!

Can you get a green over wrap for the Solar?

But to be honest the camo isnt really like a garish camo pattern in fact 30 ft away you wouldnt hardy know it was a camo
