Not much in the way of replies yet. This one I have been playing with on and off for a couple of years but had very little fishing time...my koi love it! All per Kg of dry base mix (fishmeal mix);

10g Ground Aniseed
100g (yes I weigh it) Hydro Wheat
13.5g Celmanax
1.5ml EA Dairy Cream (Catchit labs)
0.75ml Plum (John Baker)

The basemix does also have quite a high level of CC Moore Vanilla Meal which is not just sprayed soya as many still seem to claim

I also did a few test mixes this year where I reduce the Hydro Wheat and replaced the Celmanax with Calanus liquid and Minamino. Adds a 'salty twang' to the taste Not fished with this one yet though.

Cheers for sharing. Do you mix the liquids and douse the boilies , then add the powders?

I roll my own boilies, or should I say I handroll the sausages about 4-5 cm in diameter. I then boil in cling film and chop them up into different sizes. I then dry some of them out a bit and crumb them up. The ones I cut up into different sizes take on liquids really well and I use corn steep liquor and the juice out of tinned corn. I then add the crumbed up boilies and give the whole lot a good shake. Don't bother though if where you fish has a lot of Bream!

This is for making my own boilies. Are you talking about a glug to add to already made baits?

Dissolve predigested fishmeal in hot water (50°C), add some betaine, liquid liver hydro and citric acid and use it to coat your boilies.

Nice idea, what ratio of citric would you use? Around 1g a litre?

I express it to the amount of boilies I want to coat with the liquid. 1 gram per kg boilies is fine

Looks like a good combo. I'd be wary of using it where I fish though as there are a lot of very big Wels catfish.
Are you sure?
