so I hope this post will help a few of you
GAS COVERS !!!
FFS !!! they dont work !!!! (only in some of your minds))
( unless they are heated with a hand warmer or usb cup warmer inside)
other than that they can make things a lot WORSE !!
you have all probably noticed in cold weather when you use your stove you will see frost forming on the lower part of the gas container
((The visible condensation or frost line indicates the level of the liquid gas remaining in the gas bottle))
well if you put a cover on your insulating that cold and ice and making it worse not better
Stoves if your stove has a pre heat pipe that goes over the burner head then GREAT !!!!
you wont have ANY problems in minus temps when butane gas does not vaporise as when its so cold your stove pressure becomes too low SIMPLY turn your remote tin of gas upside down then the liquid gas gravity feeds
the pre heat pipe will then turn it to gas and your stove will work like it does in mid summer
point`s to remember when using it like this start it off normally then after a 30 secs or so turn the gas tin upside down
ALSO
when your kettle has boiled and you turn it off it does not go out instantly
it make takes 10 to 15 seconds to go out due to it running on gravity
EDIT OBVIOUSLY IF YOUR STOVE DOES NOT HAVE A PRE HEAT PIPE OVER THE BURNER HEAD DO NOT TURN THE GAS CAN UPSIDE DOWN YOU WILL CAUSE A FLARE UP

But if your stove is a budget one without a pre heat tube over the burner head OR you DONT want to invert the can ?
all is not lost for under a fiver you can sort it
Simple solution if you take a phone charger power pack ? buy one of these and with the cover on or even no cover at all

Cheers OG going to give one of those USB mats a whirl. Those covers are pretty naff but at least I can tuck the cable out of the way when I'm packed up!
