Wanting to clean and waterproof my bivvy. Was looking at getting some dp pure liquid soap to clean and then use fabsil gold to waterproof would this be okay. Just have heard you can't use detergents to clean with.

unless its been damaged or previously washed with a detergent based cleaner ? or is over 5 years old ?
it probably does not need reproofing at all a good wash with warm water and pure soap should completely restore the beading properties of the original waterproofing and it will be obvious after you have washed it when you give it a good rinse you should see the water beading again
the enemy of waterproofing on bivvys is dirt it fills the pores of the fabric and stops beading and wets out remove the dirt and its like new again IT COSTS NOTHING TO TRY IT

Bivvy is 6 years old so could do with waterproofing, but thank you I will wash with pure soap and water and see what its like and see if i want to waterproof it afterwards.
