At the moment I use a dedicated marker rod and a dedicated spod rod, the Sonik rod is classed as a spod and marker rod in one so I was thinking about getting one of these to cut down on the amount of tackle I take, I'm not convinced that one rod can do both jobs efficiently. Is there anyone using one of these for both purposes and what do you think of them good or bad.

I have one and use it for both when the situation allows but primarily for spodding. I have the 13ft version. Straight up i am affiliated with Sonik but will give you my honest opinion. Personal preference comes into it as i like a stiffer rod for my marker work at range so it suits me. Obviously not as good as an out and out spod rod or marker rod but very impressive for the money. I have used many Sonik rods for all areas of my fishing for the past 5yrs and the value for money and build quality are excellent. The Sonik customer service has always impressed me and i have had the odd fault in the past which was quickly resolved. Sonik don't claim to be top end but they do claim to be amongst the best value for money with a lifetime warranty against faults if registered. In the case of the Tournos XD rods i use i think they very much undersell themselves but that's for another thread.

I have the dominator x s&m i find it excellent as a marker rod, as it's a bit stiffer, and as a spod rod I don't chuck massive distances with it, but it's handles the job just fine,
