Hi all, hoping to take a mate pike fishing in a few weeks time. He's in Cambridge, so I was hoping to fish the cam for the morning then spend the rest of the day in the pub!
Does anyone know of any decent free or day ticket stretches where we have a chance of a couple of pike? Not after monsters, just a couple of bites.

The section of the river near Grantchester always used to be good and was free. I would avoid the section with all the rowing boats on it, not only are there loads of rowers out but everyone fishes that section so bites are not common.
Check in some of the tackle shops also as they will know better than me.

Upware might be worth a poke about. If you catch nowt always go for a pint in reach or five miles from anywhere
