I'm thinking of buying 3 Free Spirit S-Lite 12ft 3.25lb rods
I'm going to fish lakes 7-10 acres

Hi mate, I just bought a set of e class 3.25lbs which I was told are similar in action to the s-lites. They cast nicely which I was expecting, but they're actually alright to play a fish on at close range as well. Have had a few fish on them now and am really impressed. Wacked out a solid pva bag with 2oz lead about 70 yards (edit-metres) easily enough. Can't imagine using them for fish much less than 20lb would be a huge amount of fun but guess it depends what you're used to. Hopefully that helps in absence of a better reply.

Great playing action and loads of feedback on the rods. 3.5's struggle to punch out large bags to 22 wraps + but as long as this isn't an issue for you they are quality. 👍

Really? I had the 3.25s 12ft s lites and could get a pva bag to 100yards (25 wraps) and reckon I could get them further if really needed so I assumed the 3.5s it should do it easily mate weird that

Another vote for the e class in 3.25. great all rounders up to maybe 90yards.

I've got S lites in 3.5tc and are a joy to use. Easily fish 100 yards or 10 yards, a real nice action.
