Hi, bought some TX2 13' Intensity Rods for odd time i try to do distance Fishing.
Looking at a Spod Rod for above, was thinking of TX - A Spod Rod 13'

The Tx plus is a new rod, I had the TX-A spod rod while using TX2 13ft intensities and the spod rod complimented them np at all. 
The TX-A whilst it has a stiff backbone also had a relatively light tip. I really enjoyed using it and only sold it as a mate needed a long distance rod for sea fishing and he's still using it to date so i highly recommend the TX-A spod rod after using it extensively for about 2 seasons with np whatsoever. My LD FS 13ft launcher is a relalive heavyweight broom handle in comparison...

He seems to have same opinions as you. Stiff but should still be good for shorter distances, tip isn't too stiff for a spod rod.
He's done 180m with a loaded large spomb, yet again i'm in another world
Good guess TX - A Spod prob will be better for me than TX - Spod Plus.

I bought the Shimano TX- A spod rod 13ft about 2 years ago and now I'm selling it. Just don't like the 13ft length. It almost requires a different casting technique to the 12fts. At least for me. So I'm in the market for a 12ft spod rod now. A more lightweight rod too.
