Just wondering if anyone has fitted the upgraded shimano spool clickers to the 5500 ultegra size reels looking to do my 3 x ultegra ci4 5500 xtb reels if so did you have to file much of the clicker plate down to get them to fit and work and is it a much more noticeable noise over the standard clicker plate that comes on the spools as standard

Yes i have done it, yes like you say you have to grind a bit off the end otherwise it bottoms out in the "v" so spool direction cant be changed.

It is a bit of trial and error i just kept grinding a bit off the end until it stopped bottoming, they are a bit louder than the standard clicker but the more you grind off it the quieter they get, but still imo louder than the old style
