Generally speaking what's the lifespan of braid mainline before it starts to deteriorate and become weak?

I guess it's down to use and storage
If I'm on mono I change maybe every 3 to 6 months depending on usage.
Braid as an example I've had fox sinking braid on a set of Reels 6 years and still ok. Lots of use.
Had 50 lb power Pro on my pike gear for 10 years maybe
Still ok

I've had my Sufix 832 on for about 3 years now and am still happy with it.
