Hi guys,

I was just watching a video by Kevin Ellis in which he mentions that the Trakker retention slings are bad for fish, as they strip off the slime layer of fish which made me think. Do all these all mesh retention slings have this issue? Advantage of these all mesh slings is obviously the oxygen passing through much easier.

Which style do you prefer?

I'd take what he says with a pinch of salt mate, he has his agendas.

I use the trakker sling and the esp one,I can't say I have ever noticed any issues

Ive used a aqua aquatex one for years without any issues.

It's the full mesh type slings

Okay thanks guys! Didn't know or even expect Kevin Ellis to have a double agenda.

Doesn't everyone use a full mesh landing net or am I missing something?

The slings are a finer mesh and they sort of cling to the fish when weighing.Im not sure if it's that he is referring to that can strip the slime off the fish

I have an older Trakker one and I know what he means, you do get some residue left behind and God forbid you put a Bream in it not sure if the new ones are the same. Got a Cotswold Aquarius one now and not noticed it to be an issue with that one
